Religious Education

Dear Religious Education Families,

Due to the corona virus outbreak we have been asked by the Diocese of Gary to cancel all events EXCEPT liturgical events such as Mass, evening prayer, stations, and confession which will continue to meet at the scheduled times, as well as our St. Pat’s Day Potluck on Sunday.

Our R.E. class sessions on Wednesday evenings, and Sunday mornings will be cancelled until Wednesday April 15th for the Wednesday Session, and Sunday April 19th for the Sunday session. We will be in contact with you as far as your children’s religious education studies at home, so they may stay on track until they return to class in April.

Our Sacrament Preparation first Eucharist on March 21st will be cancelled until further notice. We will be in contact with our 3rd grade students regarding continuing their Sacrament preparation at home.

We will also be in contact with our RCIA students as far as continuing their R.E. studies at home.

While at this time there are no documented cases in any of the four counties served by the diocese, these proactive measures are intended to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Please stay tuned to your email and phone messages, we will be in touch with further information about continuing your child’s religious education at home until they can return in April.

Please stay well and God bless.

Mission Statement

St. Patrick Catholic Community Religious Education focuses on six elements of catechesis in forming Catholic disciples young and old: Knowledge of Faith: what we believe, Sacraments and Liturgy: how we celebrate, Moral Formation: how we live as Catholic Christians, Relationship with God: how we pray, Education for Community Life: how we live in society in response to our baptism call, and Service of God: how we live out our faith in our community and world.

St. Patrick Religious Education seeks to assist and support the family and parents, the primary educators of the faith for their children, to know, love, and serve our Lord.
