Could you not watch One hour with Me?- ( Mt 26:40)

“Each time you approach the Blessed Sacrament remember that Jesus has been waiting for you for twenty centuries for this personal visit from you.” –St. Josemaria Escriva

Many of us may have contemplated at some point in our spiritual lives; what it would have been like to live during Christ’s reign on earth. Each time we pray the Rosary and enter into the Sorrowful mysteries of Our Lord, we have an opportunity to go back in time. Had we actually been there we would have found ourselves weeping bitterly at the foot of the Cross-during His painful and agonizing Crucifixion. Being good people of faith, we would have definitely comforted Him in the Agony in the Garden of Gethsemane, where He sweats drops of blood. WE certainly would not have been like the other disciples: falling asleep when Our Lord specifically asked His companions to keep watch with Him.

How about the Scourging at the Pillar? Or the Crowning with Thorns? Would you have been able to make a difference in alleviating Our Lord’s suffering back then?

“A Holy Hour is not a devotion; it is a sharing in the work of redemption.” - Bishop Fulton Sheen

Do you think that you can help to alleviate that suffering now? If the answer is yes, then you know that spending time with Our Lord in His REAL PRESENCE is making a difference. It makes a difference to HIM because HE waits for you, loves you, and wants your friendship with Him. It makes a difference to you because you can comfort, console, and love Our Lord in his Passion and Death here and now. In choosing to spend time with Him in Eucharistic Adoration, you can receive His healing power and grace in your life. You can make a difference in the lives of the people you pray for each time that you make a Holy Hour.

Can you not watch One hour with Me? - (Mt 26:40)

Are you willing to stay awake with Our Lord and let Him help you carry your cross?
