For anyone interested in knowing more about summer sports camps, check out the information below on some of the best in the area:

The Irish Athletic Department, by popular demand, this summer is going to have a basketball skills camp one day a week for 2 hours. It will be held on Wednesday afternoons from 4-6pm in the Fieldhouse, beginning on June 7th and going through the summer with the final session being August 2, but taking July 5th off – so 8 sessions in total. It will be open to boys and girls going into grades 5th-8th who are interested in furthering their basketball skills. The camp will focus on fundamentals and will not be actual practices for any specific team/grade. THIS IS A FREE CAMP!  No registration fee or forms required and we understand that summers are a busy time and that most kids will not be able to make all 8 sessions, but we strongly encourage all kids planning on participating in basketball next year to attend as many sessions as possible. Bring plenty of water and be sure to wear proper shoes. If you have any questions regarding these sessions, feel free to contact Katie Whalen at katiecwhalen@eaton.com.

Chesterton High School will again host its Basketball, Soccer and Volleyball camps at CHS.  For more information about these camps, please see the Duneland Website.

Duneland Soccer Club once again host its TetraBrazil Soccer Camp at Dogwood Park.  Last year, this camp was the largest TetraBrazil soccer camp in the USA with over 210 campers.  Twenty (20) Brazilian coaches will be here this year to teach your soccer player the most current soccer techniques. Food and fun provided by the Duneland Soccer Club. This is a soccer camp you don't want to miss.  Below is a brochure with a live link to register online.  Make sure to register by May 26 to get a Bonus Brazil Home Team jersey and chances to win a great prize.  Camp Tshirt and ball is also included with your camp registration. More information can be found on the informational flyer here.

Camp Lawrence

With summer quickly approaching, we’re getting ready for another year of the CYO’s summer camp program at Camp Lawrence. To help kickoff the 58th summer of camp, our organization, Friends of Camp Lawrence, is hosting a “Mass on the Grass” with Bishop Don Hying on June 11th, 2017 and we’re extending this invitation to you and your student’s families.

Friends of Camp Lawrence is a fundraising nonprofit comprised of Camp Lawrence staff alumni. We aim to provide volunteer support and funds for the CYO summer camp program, as well as general support for the Camp Lawrence facilities and land. Since our organization is made entirely of former campers and staff members, we know first hand how impactful the program is and wish to spread the experience to as many as possible. From this event, our goal is introduce the many families and would-be campers of the Diocese to the CYO camp program and the many benefits spending a week as a camper provides.

This is the first official event sponsored by our organization and we are very excited to have the support of Bishop Hying. Mass will begin at 2 pm followed by an invitation for everyone to stay at camp for a picnic lunch, tours of the grounds, and the opportunity to meet the camp program staff. For those who do not wish to bring their picnic we will offer a light lunch of hotdogs, chips, and beverages for a nominal price. Additionally, we will also hold a drawing for a free week to the Camp Lawrence summer program to any child aged 7-14 that attends. We’ve recently reached out to each parish, but hope that you’ll also help us in making our first event a success!

Included with this email is a copy of the “Mass on the Grass” informational flyer that can be posted or passed out, as well as a copy of the Camp Lawrence brochure and camper registration documents for any families that may inquire. To help aide you and your staff in spreading the world, feel free to contact us and we can adapt or arrange to drop off any of the materials to better fit you and your school’s needs. We genuinely appreciate your support in helping spread the word about our “Mass on the Grass” event! Event information can be found online at: http://bit.ly/CampLawrenceMotG.
