PFL Updates

As you may know, every Thursday at St. Pat's there is exposed Adoration from the end of 8:00 AM Mass till start of 7:00 PM Mass and confessions from 6:00 to 6:50 PM. Also check out our PFL table next to the bathrooms, it is loaded with pro-life literature and merchandise. Sign the petition to Opt-Out Indiana of abortion coverage in the mandated state health care exchanges required by Obama care. The petition is also available on-line at http://www.irtl.org/act/opt-out-indiana/opt-out-indiana-online-petition/
 
And Lastly we are collecting new and gentle used baby and maternity clothing for pregnancy crisis centers. Also needed are diapers and formula. Please place items under the Parishioner's for Life table next to the bathrooms. For larger items such as cribs, car seats and strollers, please contact Clark at 680-0901.

Upcoming PFL Events

Starting September 22nd and lasting through October 31st is 40-Days for Life Fall campaign. 40-Days for Life is a community-based campaign that draws attention to the evil of abortion through the use of a three-point program: Prayer & Fasting, Constant vigil, and community outreach. This is the largest and longest coordinated pro-life mobilization in history and you can help save lives by getting involved. Nearby prayer vigils including Merrillville and South Bend. Save the date for 2010 Life Chain, Sunday October 3rd 2:00 to 3:00 PM in Valparaiso. Meet in the North parking lot of St. Teresa's of Avila Church, signs and instruction will be provided. Dear Aurora,

Last month I spoke to a large group of high school and college students on the issue of abortion and how they can be more involved in pro-life evangelization.
 
During the Q&A session, some of the students challenged me about the so-called "hard cases" of abortion:
 
"What about when a young girl is raped or the victim of incest?  What about a baby who is going to be born with a severe disability?  What about when the mother's life is in danger?"
