Parishioners for Life

St. Patrick Parishioners for Life - Mission

Who we are:
PFL promotes the dignity of all life from the moment of conception until natural death and everything in between. We meet on the 2nd Thursday of each month after the 5:45 PM benediction (6 PM) in St. Bridget’s room. Everyone is welcomed and encouraged to join us. For more information visit our PFL table near the bathrooms and read our weekly bulletin column at http://discovermass.com/church/st-patrick-chesterton-in/#bulletins

What we do:
We educate the parish and community through weekly bulletin announcements/inserts, through literature and materials on our PFL table, through targeted ads in the newspaper, and through special displays such as Little Soles baby shoes and The Display. We lead the parish in pro-life activities such as: Sanctity of Human Life Sunday/Month (Jan). Operation Baby Bottle (Lent), Breakfast for Life (May), Respect Life Sunday/Month and Life Chain with picnic (Oct).  We also assist & participate in Pro-life walks/marches, 40-Days for Life, Mother’s Day flower sale and other pro-life activities. Lastly, we aid local Pregnancy Help Centers with financial, material and volunteer support.

Organizations we work with:
Porter County RTL, Lake County RTL, LaPorte County RTL, Indiana RTL, National RTL, USCCB Pro-Life office, Diocese of Gary Pro-Life office, other parish RTL groups, Crisis Pregnancy Centers, Project Gabriel, Rachel’s Vineyard, Knights of Columbus and other pro-life groups.

Recent accomplishments:
Installed second ‘In Memory of Aborted Children’ Cross. Designed and installed first ever Pro-Life flag. Collaborated with Nativity and started a free NWI bus trip to the March for Life Chicago.

What you can do:
Pray for the preservation of all human life. Discuss pro-life beliefs with others. Vote for pro-life candidates and legislation. Support pregnancy centers. Join a pro-life group. Read pro-life books, articles, websites. Write pro-life letters to the editor and to Congress.

The weak cry out "Take my hand, not my life". Let us not turn our backs on those in need. Make a difference and be a voice for Life.
