Men of St. Joseph

The Men of St. Joseph foster Christian fellowship and the growth in our knowledge of the faith.  Men have the opportunity to share how the gospel is lived in their life and we have a support network among the members of the group that helps us to realize that we are all traveling a similar road.

Members of the group are made up of men ranging in age from their 20s to their 80s.  Some in the group are non-parishioners, but active participants nonetheless.

So how do you join?  Just come to a meeting!  There is no particular way to become a part of the group outside of attending a meeting and getting seeing what it's all about.

The Men of St. Joseph generally meet the first Saturday of each month at the 8:00 am mass and have our meeting following mass (usually starting about 8:45 am) in the parish office.  The meetings generally run until around 10:00 am.

Starting in December, we will be beginning a scripture study using the book Understanding The Scriptures: Student Textbook.  This text is part of the Didache series, a high school/adult education text book.

Are you coming to the Picnic?

The date for the Men of St. Joseph family picnic is Sunday August 15th from 1:00 to 5:00ish (we usually have stragglers until 7:00).  Everyone is welcome whether you normally attend meetings or not, come and catch up with friends. A good time is usually had by all!  Bring your spouse and your kids or grandkids.  We have a swimming pool and a large yard to keep the kids busy. Make sure the kids have their swim suits.

We will probably do the usual as far as the meal goes which is pitch in some money for chicken and sandwiches and then have a potluck for the side dishes, desserts, beverages and paper products.  If you or your wife has a specialty then let me know when you RSVP and I will sign you up for that item.

Please RSVP ASAP if you will be attending with the number of adults, teenagers and children or grandchildren.
